10 Video Games You Need To Play Before You Die!

Welcome to the last part of Cullination's Apocalyptic Weekend!

10 video games you need to play before you die! (in no particular order)

1. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

This is a classic game that everyone loves.  It is what started the huge 3-D "boom' in video games.  It is purhaps the greatest Legend of Zelda game and could be the greatest game ever made!  If you have not heard of this game then you have obviously been living under a rock all these years!  If you did not play this game before then you better play it as soon as you can because it is a classic.  Even if you have played it and beat it, then just play it again because I'm sure that you would agree that it is that kind of game when you just want to play it over and over again.

2.  Super Mario 64

Another classic of a game that helped launch the making of 3-D games.  In Super Mario 64 you played as Mario as you wander around Princess Peach's castle painting jumping in search of Bowser.  It really is an amazing game that everyone truly enjoys.

3.  Super Mario Galaxy 2

Ever since Nintendo released Super Mario 64, Nintendo started to release "sequels" on game consuls that came after the N64.   On the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo introduced the very first true sequel to one of those games.  Super Mario Galaxy 2 takes Mario in space as he jumps from planet to planet in search of his foe, Bowser.  The artwork and music in this game are simply amazing.

4.  Banjo Kazooie

In the 90's, Rare (a video game publisher) was on fire!  Thanks to Rare, Nintendo released classic game after classic game.  Banjo Kazooie was one of those games.  You control a honey bear with his bird friend as you collect puzzle pieces.  I know that doesn't sound like much fun, but trust me...it is a game you must play before you die!

5.  Metroid Prime Trilogy

These games were huge hits since the first Metroid Prime on Gamecube!  They were a first person shooter game as the player used Samus to shoot space pirates and a darker version of herself.  The games are so great that I decided to include all three of the games on this list!

6.  Chrono Trigger

This game was originally released for Super Nintendo System.  Even in today's standards of video games it is amazing!  The graphics were so good even for today (20 years later).  The story is one of the best out there and mind bottling!  This game has it all and is a must play!

7.  Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

The real sequel to Ocarina of Time.  This game is not as good as Ocarina of Time, but it is still considered one of the best Zelda games ever.  This game stole the heart of so many people after they watched that moon get bigger and bigger!  It has a huge place in my heart.

8.  Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

The most recent legend of Zelda game.  This is important to play before you die because it reveals the story of how Link's most dangerous foe comes to be!  The birth of Ganondorf!  This game is also so much fun to play, except for the tears in the silent realm!

9.  Luigi's Mansion

In all Mario games you always hear about Mario's brother.  Luigi always plays second fiddle to his brother.  You must play this game before you die because it switches things around a bit!  Now Luigi has to go and save Mario!  This is a pretty good game.  My only complaint is that it is too short of a great game.  Hopefully the soon to be released sequel will be a bit longer.

10.  Star Fox 64

Another great game released for the N64!  StarFox is the first really good game featuring the character, Fox McCloud.  This game was so good and memorable that Nintendo released a remake of the game for their Nintendo 3DS.  After playing the remake, it is still a great game and you need to play it before you die!

10 Comic Books You Need To Read Before You Die!

Welcome to the first part of Cullination's Apocalyptic Weekend!

10 Comic Books You Need To Read Before You Die! (in no particular order)

1.  Batman: Long Halloween

One of my all time favorite Batman graphic novels!  It's a story about mystery.  It starts on Halloween night, in which a murder takes place.  Since then, a murder occurs corresponding with different holidays.  The story covers Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.  It is an amazing read and if you are a fan of Batman or comic books at all, you should definitely read this before you die!

2.  X-Men: Days of Future Past

One of the best X-Men stories out there (and soon to be a film in 2014).  It's a story mostly based around Wolverine and Kitty Pride.  They most join together to save the past by saving the future for all human and mutant kind!

3.  Amazing Spider-Man #121 (The Night Gwen Stacy Died)

The biggest turning point in comic book history.  Peter Parker has experienced a lot of heart break and tragedy in his life.  But none greater than when his love of his life died.  Many people believe that Gwen Stacy is Peter's true love instead of Mary Jane Watson.  It's a story that was so powerful that it changed comic books forever.  To this day, Gwen Stacy is the only person in comic books that remains dead.

4.  Death Of Spider-Man

Yes, when Gwen Stacy died it was very heart broken.  However, no greater death in Peter Parker's life was his own.  In Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #156-160, Spider-Man gets caught in the middle of the Avengers vs. New Ultimates.  After countless amount of training to make Spider-Man a better hero, he ends up taking a bullet for Captain America.  After he was shot, he went on to battle the Sinister Six, led by Green Goblin.  In the end, Goblin kills Peter Parker.  This story arc actually made me feel a little tearful.  It was so sad.  Especially when I saw the page with Peter in heaven while his Uncle Ben says "You did alright, kid."

5.  Batman: Year One

Said to be the greatest Batman story ever written.  The story tells the tale of Batman's origin and the first few years of his career.  Though everyone knows his origin story, it is still a great read and highly enjoyable.

6.  Watchman

Batman: Year One is said to be the best Batman story ever written.  Watchman, however, is said to be the greatest graphic novel ever written!  A story about "racism" and a group of retired Super Heroes that try to solve the mystery of the death of one of their own.  Once I started reading this story, I could not put it down.

7.  Hush

After reading about Batman's origin story, how about reading Bruce Wayne's story?  Hush talks about Bruce Wayne's only friend while he was growing up.  It also introduces a new villain, Hush.  To this day, it also is one of my favorite Batman story and is very interesting.

8.  Iron Man: Demon In A Bottle

A great Iron Man story.  A comic that explains Tony's almost self destruction.  Tony Stark becomes an alcoholic and almost destroys himself.  One of the best Iron Man stories ever written!

9.  Batman: Death In The Family

The last Batman comic on this list, I swear!  The only hero with more heart break than Peter Parker is Bruce Wayne.  In this story, The Joker tricks Jason Todd (the second Robin) into traveingl to Lebanon in order to find his mother.  There, Joker kills Jason Todd with a crow bar.  It is a very powerful story after seeing Batman carrying a dead Jason Todd.  This memory in Batman's life haunts him for a very long time.  However, this story gets less powerful when Jason Todd comes back to life as the new Red Hood.

10.  Death of Superman

Another great and tragic death in the comic book world.  The death of Superman was like an end of an era, the end of the most legendary super hero ever!  A monstrous beast known as Doomsday terrorizes Metropolis and the only one that can stop him is Superman.  However, the fight eventually leads to Superman's death (obviously)

Poke-Focus #27: Luxray

Introduction

Luxray is one of my favorite electric type Pokemon!  In my opinion, he is the only good electric type in the fourth generation.  But that's okay because he is a total beast!  Sadly, Luxray has not gotten as much coverage and love as he should have.  Luxray is so powerful that he can almost match the power of almost any legendary Pokemon!

Capture/training
You can catch a Shinx fairly early in Platinum and Diamond on route 202.  If you want to skip the Shinx, then you can catch a Luxio in the Fuego Ironworks.
Shinx evolves at level 15, and Luxio evolves into Luxray at level 30.  This means that because he hits his final form some what early, it gives him more time to get even more powerful!  All of his evolutions stay as a pure electric type Pokemon.
Abilities
Luxray can have the ability of Intimidate.  This ability allows each opponent's attack stat to go down by one stage.
A Luxray can also have the ability of Rivalry.  This ability increases the base stat of Physical and Special Attacks by 25% if the opponent is the same gender.  However, it decreases the base stat by 25% if the opponent is the opposite gender.
Stats
HP:80  ATTACK:120  DEFENSE:79  S. ATTACK: 95  S. DEFENSE:79  SPEED:70
Very good stats for a non legendary!  His HP stat is pretty average as is his Defense and Special Defense stat.  Luxray's best weapon, however, is his attack stats.  His special attack is pretty good and above average, but his attack stat is almost through the roof!  Luxray's worst stat is definitely his speed.  But even his speed is not that bad.

Moves

Learning CHARGE early is beneficial.  It powers up electric type moves and increases Special Defense by 1 stage.  Shortly after he learns charge, he learns SPARK.  A somewhat powerful electric attack with power at 65 and accuracy at 100%.  Spark also has a 30% chance to paralyze the target.  Spark is also very good for Luxray because of his attack stat.

After Luxray learns spark, he learns BITE.  A very simple move that doesn't need much of an explanation.  It has a 60 power rating.  Later on, Luxray learns CRUNCH.  Crunch is a more powerful form of bite.  It has a power rating of 80.

Much later in Luxray's training, he learns more powerful electric attacks like DISCHARGE and WILD CHARGE .  Discharge is almost the same as spark.  The only difference is that discharge has an 80 power rating.  Wild Charge is just a little bit more powerful, however.  It has a 90 power rating.  But the bad thing about Wild Charge is that it causes 1/4 recoil damage to Luxray when he uses it.  Wild Charge is also a physical move making it a very good weapon for Luxray.

Movesets

1. The Electrician
-Charge
-Thunder Fang
-Discharge
-Wild Charge

A pretty good moveset pool if Luxray should be used as a pure electric type on your team.

2.  Attack Dog
-Crunch
-Thunder Fang
-Discharge
-Scary Face

3.  Dark Thunder
-Crunch
-Thunder
-Discharge
-Charge

A moveset in which you need to teach Luxray Thunder with a TM

Conclusion

Luxray is an extremely powerful electric type.  Almost any team would benefit greatly with him being there.  His attack stat is very high and makes him tough to battle him for long.  The goal when fighting a Luxray is not to win...it's to survive!
