Part 2: Why should you love him?
Oh, boy. What isn't there to love about Jor-El? I mean, he is the father of Kal-El (a.k.a. Superman). Jor-El was a brilliant scientist on his planet Krypton. He was also the person to discover that the planet was going to explode and he tried to warn people. Unfortunately, the people of Krypton did not believe him.
Jor-El just so happens to be the best father ever! He gets the father of the year award! I know that my father is pretty awesome and I like to think that my father is Superman, but Kal-El's father risked his life to save his infant son. Jor-El and his wife, Lara, placed Kal-El in a small pod and shipped him to another planet. Though there was a little miscalculation with sending their son to an unknown planet. This is because Jor-El and Lara had no idea what would happen to their son and the people of his new planet. They didn't know if they were going to attack him or if they were going to greet their son with open arms. Fortunately, Kal-El was found by a caring couple and they took him in as their own.
The bottom line here is that Jor-El is the "bee's knees". Jor-El is just about one of the coolest fathers you could have! He also deserves a lot more than he is given!
