Cullination Royalty: Boo Part 1

The poll was very close! But, the fans have spoken and they got their wish!  This week's Cullination Royalty is Boo!

Boo (originally known as Boo Diddley) first appeared in the game Super Mario Bros. 3.  They are always shown with their mouth open and usually with their abnormally "Michael Jordan" long tongue hanging out.  They are also known for their short arms.

Though Boos have both a terrifying name and look, they are "shy" creatures.  In every game they are in they try to sneak up behind you.  Whenever you turn around they cover their faces and hide from you.  They probably didn't win at hide-n-seek too often.

File:You vs. Boo.PNGIn the game Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Boo is the main enemy in the mini game You Vs. Boo.  In this game you have to race a Boo in order to reach a flagpole.  Once you defeat him, a Green Boo appears and then you have to race him.  After that, a Red Boo appears then a Black Boo.  Each Boo that appears gets slightly faster and more difficult to defeat.

Though Boo has appeared in many Mario titles, including Mario Party games and Sports games, the character is a bit underrated.  This is because it is difficult to defeat Boo.  If you read last week's Royalty involving the Hammer Bros., you would know that I mentioned how difficult it is to defeat a Hammer Bro.  Defeating a Boo, on the other hand, is more difficult.  In most games with a Boo, you can't even defeat them.  You just have to try to not get caught by one.

Boos have been in many games, but I feel like he should be in the Super Smash Bros. games as well.  I mean, look how great Boo looks in that picture!  He belongs as a character!

In many of the games that Boo appears in, you have to fight a King Boo at the end.  King Boo is one of the most difficult enemies you will ever fight in a Mario game.  He is also the main antagonist in Luigi's Mansion.  Because of this, King Boo would have to give up his crown for just a week and give it to his loyal minions, the Boos Brothers.  (See what I did there?)

Come back on Tuesday when Boo's Cullination Royalty continues...
