LUCARIO

INTRODUCTION

Lucario is a new member of the Super Smash Bros. roster, appearing in Brawl.  He (as some of you may know) is a powerful Pokemon appearing in the Sinnoh region.  In Super Smash, Lucario is right in the middle of being fast and slow when it comes to speed.  He also has a pretty weak jump.  Lucario is also a character to use with a few powerful moves that are easy to spam opponents with and also a few moves that will have you saying "I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT!". 

HOW TO UNLOCK

Using Meta Knight, defeat Lucario in Adventure Mode.  Or complete five Target Tests.  You can also play 100 brawls.

PROS AND CONS

PROS: 

Though Lucario isn't the fastest, he also isn't the slowest.  Lucario can still get around pretty well and you can tell where he is going.

Lucario has an interesting move set as well.  What matters is (like any smash character) how you use the moves.  He has a strong projectile move in which he charges up to make more powerful.  If his enemy is near by while he is charging, they get stuck into it and it causes damage.

The more damage Lucario has, the more powerful his attacks are.  

His jumps are very precise and its easy to recover from a fall especially if you use his Extreme Speed move (special attacks).

CONS:

Lucario's jumps are very weak.  He jumps very slowly and then double jumps even slower.  

Lucario is mainly a fighter up close.  He doesn't have many long range moves and that puts him at a small disadvantage.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

STRENGTH:

Because of Lucario's jump being so precise and he can grab onto enemies quickly, Lucario is good at avoiding King Dedede, Bowser, and Ganondorf.

Sonic isn't a very good character to use anyway, and he would get destroyed by Lucario.  Sonic can only attack up close and Lucario's moves are much more powerful.  Lucario can even keep Sonic away by blasting him with his Aura Sphere move.

WEAKNESS:

Because his jump and double jump is so slow, Lucario is bad at getting out of the way of projectiles in the air.  These include Link's bow and boomerang, Falco's blaster, and Samus' missiles.

Jigglypuff and Kirby are light weights and are very good jumpers.  Because of this they can avoid almost all of Lucario's attacks.

Lucario doesn't have very powerful projectile moves.  Therefore you are almost forced to fight up close while using Lucario.  Marth and Ike have their swords to attack Lucario and keep him away from them.

Meta Knight is quick up close and even quicker in the air.  Try to avoid him and use Aura Sphere to weaken him.

Beware of Snake!  Snake can lure Lucario in to use his combat skills, but he can easily get blown up by one of Snake's blasts.

 TIPS

Use Lucario's Aura Sphere (special attacks) to your advantage.  Don't feel the need to charge up fully all of the time.  Try throwing them at an enemy for that extra boost or to get away from them.

Force Palm (special Attacks) is a quick and powerful move.  Use it often and you will soon master how to use Lucario.

Grab an enemy and throwing them up is a good combo with the Aura Arch move (see standard attacks chart).  With this move it is very easy to spam your enemy and keep attacking them until they had enough.

Push enemies with the Aura Shoot move (standard attacks chart) then shoot a small charge of Aura Sphere (special attacks). After that, pull them in close for a Force Palm move (special attacks)

Lucario is a very good fighter in the air.  So keep your enemies in the air and attack!

Use his Evade Attack wisely.  Use it a few seconds before you think that you have to leave the current battle scene.  Use it wisely.
