Cullination Royalty: Cyrus Part 1

No one saw this one coming...at least we hope not!

Welcome to Week 5 of Cullination Royalty. This week, and this week only, yours truly (Joe, NOT Shawn) will be your host! For those of you who didn't immediately leave the page after the previous sentence, we have decided to give Shawn the week off in order to better prepare and present the first week of our newest segment (which will be debuting tomorrow). Next week, Shawn will be reclaiming the reigns and providing you with the good old fashioned Royalty you've come to know and love!

As for this week, you've seen it: Cyrus is our featured crown-bearer. Tied for second place in last week's poll, Cyrus was the main antagonist in the Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum games. He commanded a gargantuan criminal syndicate known as Team Galactic, ironically with his admins being named after planets (Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn).

Also, his hair is spiked and a daring mix of blue and green hues that could logically only be true evil in its purest, evilest form.

Cyrus had HUGE plans for the Sinnoh region in the Generation 4 Pokemon games. He plotted to harness the power of the three spiritual legendary Pokemon of the lakes across the Sinnoh region (Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf), and use it to awaken and control the legendary Dragon-type Pokemon Dialga and Palkia.

In Platinum, Cyrus uses Dialga and Palkia's clashing powers to open a portal to the Distortion World, which is the alternate dimension of the Sinnoh most of the game takes place in. Through the opening of the portal, a third dragon, Giratina, is awoken. All three of the dragons, of course, have the ability to execute his REAL plan: to wipe out the current world and build a new one from scratch. Big plans for one man (and his thousands of minions, don't you think?

Next time, we're going to get into just why Cyrus deserves the Cullination crown. Come back on Tuesday as Cyrus' Cullination Royalty continues!
